POSITION SUMMARY:
Receive and stage purchased items, supplies and materials. Prepare product and samples for shipment in accordance with environmental regulations and arrange for shipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive and examine physical condition and count of all deliveries. Indicate acceptance or note discrepancies on bill of lading and sign off Verify packing list to purchase order, count verify and record information. Route copies and report discrepancies to supervision Stage items and notify appropriate personnel as necessary Count and verify items received for shipping. Report discrepancies to supervision. Package items for shipping. Build crates for foreign shipments Count items cartons, skids and record quantity and weight on bill of lading. Complete required shipping papers including hazardous material forms and postal and freight forms on foreign shipments. Insert packing slips, attach hazardous labels if appropriate and seal cartons or containers. Band or crate, shrink wrap and confirm shipments Maintain inventory of packing materials Contact carriers to arrange for shipments. Negotiate price, service, and delivery. Establish cost and contract for service Use lift equipment as necessary to move and position items and materials. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision
Commit to following the Quality Policy established procedures and guidelines as required by the current ISO 9001 standards. Seek opportunities for continuous process improvement as a commitment to the Quality Policy Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations Perform other duties as assigned or directed
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects manually or with equipment such as hand forklifts. Ability to use hand tools Able to read and understand written instruction. Maintain accurate, legible paperwork.
