Job Description

The Life Calling Career Coach supports the mission of Ashland University's Career Center for Life Calling (CCLC) by empowering students to discover their purpose, explore meaningful career paths, and prepare for life after graduation. This role combines individualized student coaching, programmatic support, employer engagement, and academic partnership to advance student career readiness and institutional success.

1. Student Coaching & Development Provide one-on-one and group career coaching to undergraduate and graduate students on topics including: career assessments, major and career exploration, experiential learning, graduate school preparation, and job/internship search strategies. Facilitate student reflection to identify gifts, purpose, and "life calling," connecting academic and co-curricular experiences to long-term goals. Administer and interpret career assessments (e.g., PathwayU) to help students identify values, interests, personality, and skills. Guide students in developing professional materials (resumes, cover letters, Handshake profiles, LinkedIn presence, etc.). Support the design and delivery of life calling workshops, classroom presentations, and student organization programming. Supervise and mentor the CCLC Student Ambassador team to ensure quality service, peer mentorship, and outreach initiatives. 2. Career Event & Employer Engagement Support

Help coordinate and promote career fairs with Assistant Director, employer panels, networking events, and on-campus recruiting programs. Assist with employer outreach and relationship building to increase student access to internships, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities. Manage student engagement strategies related to Handshake postings, employer visits, and on-campus recruiting. Support event logistics, student preparation, and follow-up to ensure impactful career connections and outcomes. Contribute to departmental data collection, marketing, and annual reporting related to student outcomes and employer engagement. 3. Admissions & Recruitment Collaboration

Partner with the Admissions Office to represent the CCLC at recruitment and orientation events. Present the value of Ashland University's Life Calling model to prospective students, families, and campus visitors. Create clear connections between the university's purpose-driven education and student career outcomes. Develop and share success stories and marketing materials that highlight AU's distinct approach to life calling and career readiness. 4. Academic & Campus Partnerships

Support and collaborate with academic colleges, departments, and faculty to integrate career and calling development into the curriculum. Deliver customized workshops and in-class presentations tailored to specific majors or academic disciplines. Contribute to university-wide committees, strategic initiatives, and grant-funded projects that advance life calling and experiential learning goals. Maintain strong relationships with campus offices (Admissions, Student Life, Alumni Relations, Athletics, etc.) to support holistic student success. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Experience in higher education, career services, advising, or a related field. Strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems (e.g., Handshake, Colleague). Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or related field preferred. Knowledge of Life Calling concepts and a demonstrated commitment to Ashland University's mission. Servant leadership approach and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
