Corelis has an immediate opening for an FPGA Design Engineer at its Cerritos, California headquarters. As an industry leader and innovative technology group, the Corelis team works together to deliver the highest quality of boundary scan products to our customers. We seek ambitious and self-starting team-players who are motivated to reach new levels of success, individually, as well as collectively. Corelis offers a challenging and professional environment, attractive compensation, and a very competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

Lead the development of FPGA IP products from initial concept through production, including detailed documentation and post-delivery customer support. Design, implement, and verify digital logic for FPGAs, SoCs, CPLDs, microprocessors, interface circuitry, and JTAG-based emulation tools targeting advanced embedded processors. Develop hardware description code using Verilog or VHDL, and design tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus. Perform simulation, testing, and debugging of FPGA designs using test benches, simulation tools, and lab equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes. Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of FPGA components within broader system architectures. Gain deep expertise in Corelis boundary-scan (JTAG) and bus analysis tools and support the development of boundary-scan test procedures. Author, maintain, and update technical documentation, including user manuals, product datasheets, application notes, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in FPGA design. Proficiency in FPGA development using VHDL and/or Verilog. Solid understanding of digital design principles, including simulation, test benches, verification, timing analysis/closure, and clock domain crossing. Experience with FPGA development tools, particularly Xilinx ISE/Vivado and ModelSim; familiarity with Intel/Altera Quartus is a plus. Working knowledge of SoC/FPGA embedded design environments (e.g., Xilinx EDK) is a plus. Experience with ARM core development and embedded C/C++ programming in a Linux environment is advantageous. Engineered products using both digital and analog circuit design fundamentals. Architected embedded systems using programmable components such as FPGAs, CPLDs, SoCs, and flash memory devices. Familiarity with standard digital communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, QSPI, UART. Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as DDR2/DDR3, USB 3.0, PCIe, and Gigabit Ethernet. Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving in both simulation and hardware lab environments. Working knowledge of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, DMMs, and power supplies. Exposure to boundary-scan (JTAG) and IEEE 1149.1 technology is a plus. Scripting skills in EDA-related languages (e.g., Python, TCL) are highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present technical information. Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment. Commitment to quality and customer-focused engineering practices.
