Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled
Quality Inspector
to ensure materials, components, and finished products meet all engineering and performance standards. The
Quality Inspector
plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, performing precision inspections, and ensuring complete and accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect Incoming Materials
• Visually examine and count received materials for accuracy and quality.
• Verify documentation to confirm compliance with established standards.
Perform Detailed Checks
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) on components and assemblies.
• Use precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
Document Findings
• Accurately record inspection results and identify non-conformances.
• Maintain organized documentation for accepted and rejected parts.
Verify Product Performance
• Perform in-house testing and verification to ensure all products meet specifications.
• Confirm part alignment with blueprints and engineering drawings.
Conduct Outside Inspections
• Occasionally travel to vendor facilities to perform off-site quality inspections.
Maintain Clean Work Area
• Keep inspection stations organized, safe, and efficient.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Knowledge
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Skills
• Proficiency with
precision measuring tools
and
NDT techniques .
• Ability to interpret
engineering drawings and specifications
accurately.
Documentation
• Skilled in recording, organizing, and analyzing inspection data.
Problem Solving
• Strong ability to identify issues and recommend
corrective actions .
Communication
• Effective verbal and written communication for team collaboration.
Physical Requirements
• Able to
stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs .
• Strong
hand-eye coordination
(eye test required).
• Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments.
Education
• Technical degree or vocational training preferred.
