About the Role
The Director will lead and manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all preconstruction activities, including budgeting, estimating, scheduling, procurement, planning, and risk assessment. Manage and mentor preconstruction staff, including estimators, coordinators, and planners. Oversee the development of bid packages and ensure the integrity of all cost proposals. Facilitate early project planning meetings and lead preconstruction presentations for clients and executive leadership. Ensure seamless project handoff from preconstruction to construction teams. Utilize software tools such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera, and Civil #D for project management and documentation. Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. At least 10 years of commercial construction experience required. Proven experience in construction management with a strong understanding of project scheduling. Proven experience in preconstruction or estimating within the commercial or industrial construction sector. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematic development are required. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams successfully while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
