Description

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our Animal Services team. In this role, you’ll deliver outstanding customer service, handle inquiries, manage complaints, process orders, and provide vital administrative and operational support. Whether in-person, over the phone, or in the field, you'll interact with the public in a professional and positive manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service: Serve as the primary contact for customers, resolving inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring satisfaction.

Administrative Support: Assist with forms, reports, and data entry in the department’s database.

Communication & Coordination: Manage stray animal control requests and communicate with field operations.

Animal Services Support: Assist in the veterinary clinic, vaccinate stray animals, and occasionally fill in for Animal Services dispatch.

General Assistance: Help customers with various needs while maintaining accurate records of interactions.

Education, Experience, Licensing

Education & Experience: High school diploma (or GED) and 1 year of fast-paced customer service experience.

Licensing: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.

Animal Handling: Preferred, but not required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Chameleon software is a plus. Familiarity with communication systems (two-way radios, digital cameras) is a bonus.

Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; ability to explain policies clearly.

Customer Service: Excellent organizational skills with a focus on problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

Supplemental Information

Legal & Procedural Knowledge: Understanding of local animal control laws and regulations (e.g., licensing, leash laws).

Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with customers, coworkers, and community members.

Work Schedule:

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Rotations: Rotating days off with one late evening shift each week (until 5:30 p.m.).
