We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Liaison Supervisor within the Prototype Integration Group within Agile Mission Systems Electrical Engineering. The position is located in Poway, CA. The Prototype Integration group develops various aircraft peripherals and prototype systems such as RF sensors and information processing subsystems and advanced podded assemblies.

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Engineering technician team including but not limited to planning and establishing personnel tasking. Recommends process improvement methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Coordinates assembly of cost control and statistical data and the development of material selection. Participate in the preparation and control of the department budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads and directs subordinates to perform assignments. Plans daily activities related to evaluation and resolution of engineering-related production problems encountered in assigned area of aircraft manufacturing facility.

Analyzes production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in assigned area.

Confer with quality control, material, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support. Organizes and coordinates various sections of engineering.

Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.

Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope of problem. Develop solutions to moderately complex issues.

Examines, measures, inspects, or tests defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment.

Consults with project engineers to obtain specialized information. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective action plan and coordinates implementation of plan.

Maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented.

Participate in the planning, selection, retention and development of personnel to ensure the availability of the required talent.

Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Responsible for maintaining electronic lab facilities and test areas and work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in aviation, business, manufacturing or related technical field and six or more years of progressive technical experience. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Must demonstrate a strong working knowledge and understanding of liaison engineering activities, principles, concepts, regulations and practices.

Must have leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines and milestones.

Strong knowledge of complex system integration and fielding is highly desired.

IPC J-STD soldering and wire harness assembly knowledge and certifications desired.

Must possess:

Strong knowledge of SAP and the Purchase Requisition processes.

Knowledge of production processes and integrating prototype assemblies.

Proficiency in computer operations utilizing various applications.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

Ability to diagnose complex mechanical/electrical problems and determine effective solutions.

Communication skills, necessary to write and record technical information and generate detailed reports.

Ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
