About The Practice And Position
100% headache practice with light call
Well‑established with 2 full‑time Headache Neurologists and 3 APPs
Large multispecialty program including general neurology and a neurology residency program
60‑minute new patient consults and 30‑minute return visits
Procedures include onsite infusions, Botox injections and nerve blocks
Excellent patient resources including onsite pain psychologists, PharmD support, RN case management and experienced, caring staff
We’re looking for a candidate with the following qualities
Fellowship‑trained headache neurologist, skilled in all areas of practice in headache medicine
Patient‑centered with an empathetic approach to patient care
Skilled in managing patients with medical and psychiatric comorbidities
Enjoys teaching residents and medical students as they rotate through clinic
Embraces the role of APPs on the team to increase access and deliver excellent care
Thrives on a busy, dynamic practice with many facets – patient consults, working with MA/RNs to respond to calls, and managing IV treatments, among others
Essential Functions
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients and significant others
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost‑effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures related to medical practice and patient care quality
Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients
Evaluates patients’ and staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies
Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards
Communicates with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services; acts as a patient/family advocate
Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development and application of clinical paths, process improvement and related activities
Qualifications
Required Bachelor’s Degree
LIC‑Physician (MD) – State of Michigan, required upon hire
LIC‑Osteopathic Physician (DO) – State of Michigan, required upon hire
CRT‑DEA Registration – State of Michigan, required upon hire
CRT‑Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association, 120 days required or equivalent
CRT‑Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – if required by specialty or stress test, 120 days required
