Chused & Co. is seeking a Senior Designer / Project Manager to lead residential projects from concept through installation. This role requires a designer with exceptional architectural knowledge, technical drawing ability, and refined design sensibility. The position works closely with the Principal and a junior designer to bring complex, layered interiors to life—from initial concept and drawings to full installation. Ideal candidate has a cultivated design perspective and an exceptional eye for proportion, material, and detail. They bridge interior design and interior architecture, thinking seamlessly in both plan and elevation. They have a deep understanding of how things are built and the technical skill to draw them precisely. They communicate clearly, collaborate easily, and take full ownership of a project from concept through completion—producing refined, timeless spaces that embody Chused & Co.s aesthetic and standards. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of high-end residential projects through all phases Produce and oversee detailed intent drawings and elevations to pass on to project architect Develop millwork, lighting, and material specifications with precision and clarity Translate conceptual ideas into buildable design solutions that reflect the studio’s aesthetic Create and manage presentation materials, renderings, and client documentation Establish and maintain project scope, budgets, and schedules Coordinate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure design intent is executed Review shop drawings, submittals, and on-site conditions to ensure quality control Organize procurement and installation logistics in collaboration with the Principal and junior designer Attend site meetings and communicate design intent clearly to clients and contractors Work directly with the Principal on creative direction, detailing, and material development Partner with a junior designer to delegate drafting, sourcing, and presentation tasks effectively Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring timelines and expectations are met Qualifications 7–10 years of experience in high-end residential interior design or architecture Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and strong drafting and documentation skills Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Studio Designer Deep understanding of residential construction methods, millwork, and detailing Strong sense of design composition, proportion, and materiality Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills Experience coordinating with architects, builders, and vendors on complex custom projects Driver's license
