Government Relations and Regulatory Strategy (GRRS)

aims to advance LSEG’s policy agenda and profile with key policy stakeholders and to advise on reputational issues and business initiatives. The team focuses on advocacy, engagement, thought leadership and advisory, partnering with business divisions and functions to position LSEG as a trusted resource with policymakers on policy issues impacting the future of the industry. Role, Purpose and Impact You will help advance LSEG’s policy agenda and profile with key policymakers across Congress, the Administration, and regulatory agencies. This role is a financial services generalist, covering policy issues including capital markets, data & analytics, risk intelligence, indices, sustainability, and global trade. The role supports Directors and the broader team, with ownership of some issue areas. Working in the Americas team, you will be a strategic adviser on reputational issues and business initiatives impacting LSEG, our customers and partners. This role is central to GRRS’ mission to anticipate, develop and implement advocacy strategies to shape a supportive policy environment for LSEG. You will work with a diverse, global and distributed team across geographies, business areas, and functions to drive campaigns that support key policy priorities for LSEG globally. What You’ll Be Doing Anticipate, develop and implement advocacy strategies to build a supportive policy environment and/or mitigate risks for LSEG. Provide real-time, strategic counsel across the business, including executive committee and divisional senior management, on key policy and regulatory developments in the US impacting LSEG. Provide support to broader GRRS team on issues outside of core portfolio. Continually build and develop relationships with policy stakeholders in the federal policy space, serving as a key external LSEG representative. Support policymaker mapping, engagement planning, drafting consultation responses, developing policy positions, and internal reporting. Work alongside colleagues in the GRRS team globally to ensure a consistent approach. Represent LSEG at relevant events, roundtables and working groups as appropriate, and ensure our interests are reflected in policy discussions. Other duties as assigned. This role will be a registered lobbyist and engage in political activities and events. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree or related experience. 5+ years experience in government relations, public policy, and/or policy analysis and development; Congressional experience preferred. Understanding of financial services, capital markets, global trade, and/or sustainability policies. Ability to quickly understand technical issues and explain them simply to a range of partners. Experience working closely with and desire for high engagement with policymakers and staff. Demonstrate strong political competence and understanding of Congress, Administration, and U.S. political landscape. Ability to take initiative, adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, lead and prioritize several projects concurrently, and exercise good judgment. Must have high attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Must exhibit professional demeanor, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a clear reputation for ethical conduct. Key Relationships and Committees Internal: Colleagues of varying seniority across breadth and depth of Group, including up to the executive committee and divisional senior management. External: Policymakers, regulators, politicians, central bankers, customer and competitor peers, industry bodies, academics and think tanks. We take a hybrid approach to workplace, with a requirement to work three days per week in the office. This role must have the ability to travel 5-10% of the time. Compensation/Benefits Information LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $107,100 - $178,700. This role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage.
