Position Overview
The Director, Advanced Analytics & AI is responsible for spearheading the strategy, development, and application of advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to optimize commercial operations. This role will oversee the deployment of advanced analytics driven tools, predictive analytics, and data science methodologies to drive revenue growth, improve customer engagement, and enhance business decision-making. The Director will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Finance teams to ensure data-driven strategies align with business objectives.
Essential Job Functions Develop and implement advanced analytics strategies to drive commercial effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Lead the creation and deployment of machine learning models, predictive analytics, and automation tools to enhance decision-making.
Oversee the development of advanced analytics driven insights for sales forecasting, customer segmentation, pricing optimization, and market intelligence.
Partner with IT and Data Engineering teams to build scalable data pipelines that support commercial analytics.
Introduce natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and deep learning techniques to improve commercial data analysis.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Market Access teams to implement advanced analytics decision support systems.
Design and partner with IT to develop self-service AI tools that empower commercial teams with real-time, data-driven insights.
Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of data scientists and advanced analytics specialists.
Stay abreast of emerging AI and analytics trends to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation in commercial operations.
Manage workload and seek additional resources when required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Business Analytics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in advanced analytics, AI, or data science within the medical device, medtech, or pharmaceutical industry.
Strong expertise in machine learning, AI algorithms, and big data technologies (Python, R, TensorFlow, AWS/Azure ML, etc.).
Proven experience developing advanced analytics powered solutions for sales optimization, forecasting, and commercial decision-making.
Expertise in data engineering, data pipeline automation, and cloud-based analytics.
Experience in deploying advanced analytics solutions within CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Strong understanding of healthcare data privacy, compliance, and regulatory considerations.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex advanced analytics models into actionable business insights.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

US: $160,000 - $276,000 / Bay Area: $197,000 - $317,400
