MRI Technologist (Weekend Nights – Part-Time Contract)

Saturdays & Sundays, 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM (16 hours/week) Contract Duration:
November 24, 2025 – February 21, 2026 Shift:

Experience with GE MRI scanners
Job Summary: The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating specialized magnetic imaging equipment to perform MRI procedures. The role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and attention to safety to produce diagnostic-quality images in accordance with established protocols and patient needs.
Key Responsibilities: Perform MRI imaging procedures and ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards. Position patients and coils correctly to optimize image quality. Review patient safety questionnaires and screen for contraindications prior to scanning. Provide clear explanations and procedural instructions to patients. Label and transmit all MRI images accurately to PACS. Maintain cleanliness and safety of MRI suite and equipment. Record and update patient and exam information in the Radiology Information System (IDX). Schedule and manage imaging exams as required. Notify supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions. Assist physicians during imaging procedures when necessary. Adhere strictly to MRI safety protocols to prevent introduction of ferromagnetic materials into scan area. Follow infection control standards to ensure a safe clinical environment. Maintain all required certifications and participate in ongoing professional development. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience: Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, MRI physics, and physical sciences. Excellent technical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years’ MRI experience. Familiarity with GE scanner systems (required for this role).
Education & Certification Requirements: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved program in Radiologic Technology. Valid
New York State License
in Diagnostic Radiology. A.R.R.T. MRI
registered. BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
certification required.
