PICU Travel Nurse Job Details Location: Charleston, SC 29401 (South Carolina healthcare jobs) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840 Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026) Setting: Pediatric ICU Float Pool (PICU, CVPICU, NICU) Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, holiday rotation Patient Ratios: 1:2/1:3 Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks Pediatric ICU RN Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience required Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License (pending license with proof of application accepted) BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required) Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred Strong pediatric critical care skills: anti-seizure medication administration, ventilator management, chest tube care, central/PICC line care, sedation, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, pediatric dosage calculations, isolation precautions Ability to float to all pediatric units (PICU, CVPICU, NICU) as needed All requested time off must be submitted at time of application Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the ICU Float between Pediatric ICU, Cardiovascular PICU (CVPICU), and Neonatal ICU (NICU) units as needed Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment Administer medications, manage ventilators, and provide advanced airway and line care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season if required Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols Why Choose Charleston, SC for Your Next Nursing Job?
