Rutgers Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) in New Brunswick, New Jersey, seeks a gastroenterology-trained hepatologist for an open-rank faculty position within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at RWJMS and the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System. The practice includes outpatient facilities and hospitals in the health system, primarily at the Ambulatory Medical Pavilion outpatient clinic and at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) on the Rutgers New Brunswick campus. The division has gastroenterology fellows, residents, and students, providing teaching and research opportunities. The role includes building a robust outpatient hepatology practice, attending on the inpatient Hepatology Service at RWJUH, outpatient and inpatient endoscopy, and education (UME and GME). There are opportunities to engage in clinical, translational, or basic science research. Candidates trained in liver transplantation will have the opportunity to serve as an attending hepatologist (inpatient and outpatient) at the Liver Transplantation Program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey (approximately 22 miles from the New Brunswick campus). Responsibilities

Build and sustain a robust outpatient clinical practice in Hepatology. Attend on the inpatient Hepatology Service at RWJUH. Provide outpatient and inpatient endoscopy (at RWJUH or nearby ambulatory surgery centers). Engage in education for UME and GME programs. Participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research as available. For eligible candidates, participate as an attending hepatologist in the Liver Transplantation Program at RWJMS/RSBNJ (if liver transplantation training applies). Qualifications

Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology with a focus on hepatology during fellowship or completion of a PGY7 transplant hepatology fellowship.
