Non-Invasive Cardiology Academic Opportunity with Carilion Clinic - Roanoke, VA Carilion Clinic has an opening for a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join the Section of Cardiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703 bed Level 1 Trauma/Tertiary Care Center serving over one million people in Virginia. This role offers the benefits of being part of Carilion Clinic's integrated, nationally recognized cardiac network with an established and growing Cardiology section supported by a large primary care and specialty referral base. Appointment at the Virginia Tech School of Medicine with teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and cardiology Fellows is available at our academic medical center. Research opportunities at Carilion or in collaboration with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute are available. State-of-the-art facilities include 6 catheterization laboratories, 64-slice CT scanner, cardiac MRI, electrophysiology, structural heart program, ventricular assist devices and CT Surgery.
Responsibilities and Practice Details Provide clinical non-invasive cardiology services as part of an integrated cardiovascular team. The section has fellowships in general, interventional and structural cardiology. Intermittent outreach to hospitals or clinics within 60 minutes of Roanoke is expected.
Qualifications Required qualifications include board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease. Echo and nuclear imaging skills are required and advanced imaging certification is desirable. New graduates and experienced cardiologists are encouraged to apply.
About Carilion Clinic and the Cardiovascular Institute Carilion Clinic’s Cardiovascular Institute will expand significantly over the next seven years with the organization investing over $1 billion on capital improvements, including $200 million to equip the new Crystal Spring Tower dedicated to emergency and heart care as well as behavioral health. The building is slated to open in 2025 and will include a four-story, 100-bed cardiovascular patient facility and the largest cardiac catheterization lab in the region, focusing on heart bypass surgery, an aortic center including aortic valve surgery and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, as well as heart failure and COPD care. The Section of Cardiology offers fellowships in general, interventional and structural cardiology.
