Job Details
Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to support a portfolio of properties with day-to-day and month-end financial operations. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who enjoys a mix of technical accounting, collaboration across departments, and direct impact on business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full month-end close for assigned properties, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for each hotel entity.
- Calculate, prepare, and submit monthly and quarterly tax filings (sales, occupancy, and tourism taxes).
- Review and post daily system uploads and approve daily flash reports.
- Reconcile intercompany balances across multiple portfolios and the parent organization.
- Support new property acquisitions by setting up utilities and accounting processes.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets for hotel operations.
- Prepare audit workpapers and supporting documentation for annual financial audits.
- Contribute to special projects and provide support for other real estate and investment-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience in hotel accounting).
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within hospitality, commercial real estate, or property management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization—from property teams to senior leadership.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
