Job Summary

Infrastructure Products Group (IPG) is a part of CRH, the leading building materials business in the world. Our products reliably convey, connect, and protect the world’s critical water, energy, communications, and transportation infrastructure. Within IPG, Local Solutions employs over 2,600 people and operates 60+ manufacturing facilities with annual revenues of $1.5 bn. The Accounting Manager, Center of Excellence (COE) reports directly to the Director of Accounting and leads process simplification, standardization, and centralization initiatives across the manufacturing accounting teams.

Job Location

Remote, based near one of our facilities in the United States.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Local Solutions finance team to prioritize and streamline processes such as production reconciliations, journal entries, capital expenditures, fixed asset management, inventory management, and SOX controls.
  • Develop and implement simplified, standardized procedures, gathering stakeholder feedback, creating training documents, and rolling out new processes.
  • Leverage technology, where possible, to automate processes.
  • Obtain approval from SOX and Internal Audit before updating procedures that impact internal controls.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for SAP S/4 HANA in manufacturing finance and support applications.
  • Provide support, troubleshooting, and guidance to manufacturing finance personnel on SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and mentor a team of accounting clerks and support staff.
  • Host recurring calls for staff accountants and financial analysts to share best practices and advance business acumen.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees, CMA, or CPA preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for the right candidate.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing finance and/or cost accounting experience.
  • Expertise in ERP systems for manufacturing finance roles, with SAP S/4 HANA preferred.
  • Hands‑on training experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Travel – 10% or more may be required.
  • Prior team‑leadership experience preferred.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement best practices.
  • Results‑oriented, delivering accurate, complete, and timely products and services.
  • Ability to act independently as a subject‑matter expert with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to implement ideas across a multi‑plant environment.
  • Ability to influence others without a direct reporting relationship.
