About The Role
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will monitor, maintain and repair building system operations – plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. You will support preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems, keeping facilities and building systems up to applicable standards.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain an energy management program and ensure all systems operate efficiently.
- Assist with implementing preventive maintenance programs to keep building machinery and systems meeting or exceeding their rated life, performing emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Review building systems inspections, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, ensuring equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client environmental conditions.
- Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share knowledge of your own discipline and other relevant disciplines.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, building consensus and encouraging agreement among teams.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and professionally.
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job‑related experience (combination of experience and education may be considered). Universal CFC certification is preferred; local or state licensing may be required. Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Meet physical requirements: stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions.
- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills: ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and financial‑related calculations.
