The Residential Step-Down Department (RSD) promotes the wellness and recovery of individuals with substance use and related disorders. Residential step-down programs are sub-acute, short-term residential facilities that provide coaching and support in a 24-hour staffed, open home-like environment. RSD provides a temporary, drug- and alcohol-free environment to residents actively engaged in outpatient services for medically necessary SUD treatment provided to the client off-site. The goal is for residents to find employment, housing, and become self-sufficient while continuing to work on their recovery. Key Responsibilities Provides direct services such as intakes, assessment, crisis intervention, and case management as needed. Responsible for retention and completion of clients, facilitates individual coaching sessions with each caseload client. Provides learning experience opportunities and offers support to assist clients in meeting their long-term recovery goals. Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their recovery needs and follows up on the progress/status. Performs house runs to ensure and maintain accountability of all clients and the safety and security of the facility. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. Documents client updates and incidents in the facility log daily, performs CPR and First Aid including administering Narcan as needed, and works weekends and holidays as needed. Setting Responsibilities Facilitates community meetings and ensures compliance with facility rules. Assumes Health & Safety Representative role including monthly safety trainings, emergency drills, maintains safety supplies, updates emergency response plan, and attends safety meetings. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with the team as unforeseen situations arise. Documents all client updates and facility incidents daily in the facility log. Performs periodic house runs to ensure and maintain the safety and security of the facility. If assigned the DOT, documents and ensures client medications are securely stored and properly accounted for and holds facility keys and floater cellular phones. Accompanies clients to offsite appointments related to their recovery as needed. Attends all required trainings and meetings as assigned by facility manager. Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events. Recovery Coaches must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed. Documentation Responsibilities Collaborates with each client and other available internal and external resources to develop transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of health and recovery needs of the client. Properly documents in all individual encounters and completes discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in a timely manner. Maintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all clients in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360 guidelines to satisfy internal and external evaluation requirements. Completes accountability report weekly and collaborates with treatment providers to assist clients in achieving program completion. Education And Knowledge, Skills And Abilities High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred. Valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance. Must be willing to complete a background check and livescan. Experience working successfully with diverse populations, specifically with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency. Knowledge of gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and co-occurring treatment. Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications and internet applications, with the ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining data integrity and accuracy. Self-motivated, dependable, creative, and proactive approach to work; understands the importance of working independently and within a team environment. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Bilingual desired. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
