Business Process Analyst : IT Business Systems Overview

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include analyzing business problems to be solved with automated systems, defining system scope and objectives, and preparing detailed specifications from business and user needs. The role supports IT policies and procedures and works within various program areas including Breast Care Center, Radiology Administration, and the IT Project Management Office (PMO). Responsibilities

Analyzes a spectrum of moderately complex to complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Analyzes business and user needs, prepares detailed specifications from which applications are implemented. Evaluates and supports developing system processes and procedures. Writes and maintains specifications. Produces technical writing in support of Hoag’s IT Policies and Procedures. Prepares time and cost estimates for projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Breast Care Center (Clinical Administrator for breast systems)

Functions as the Clinical Administrator for breast systems including but not limited to: Sectra PACS, Epic EMR, PowerShare, PowerScribe, and MagView. Develops processes, identifies imaging patient care gaps/issues, and maintains system health. Implements and updates equipment and clinical programs. Communicates and engages with breast program leaders, staff, IT, and radiology. Additional duties as assigned. Radiology Administration

Functions as the EPIC Radiant trainer for all Radiology staff. Attends all required meetings and training updates to stay abreast of system upgrades/changes and required education. Responsible for ultrasound applications training, including but not limited to the production and management of clinical materials and updating of protocols. Collaborates with lead BPA on other RIS related issues (i.e. SECTRA, Digiview, etc.) to ensure maximum efficiency of systems and processes. IT Project Management Office (PMO)

Works with IT Project Managers (PMs) to coordinate and support IT projects as well as developing financial analyses. Produces financial tracking, reporting, identifies variances, and reconciles budgets. Collaborates to present project financial analyses and insights to IT Leadership. Supports IT PMs to ensure projects stay on track, within budget and schedule. Creates analytics monitoring and tracking status, insights, and reports on financial performance measures supporting Sr. Leadership. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education and Experience

BA in Business, Health Care or IT or related field (or equivalent work experience) Minimum of 3 years of Business Analysis Technical writing experience within a project environment documenting small to medium sized experience with the workflows of one or more assigned business or clinical functional areas Requires the ability to produce technical writing in support of Hoag’s IT Policies and Procedures; exposure to ITIL, CMMI, PMI preferred Masters or PhD degree preferred Radiology Department Only: Minimum of 10 years in a technical role and must be an EPIC credentialed trainer (Radiant) Licenses and Certifications

Current CA driver’s license for local travel N/A for License Preferred N/A for Certifications Required Certifications Preferred: IIBA Certification; HIPPA HITRUST and HITECH Certification; Radiology Department Only: ARDMS or CRT About Us
