Responsibilities
Support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, tax withholding certificate validation (Forms W-8/9) and related withholding and reporting reconciliations for engagements with banks, wealth and asset management firms and insurance companies.
Engage in day-to-day collaboration with team members to provide a quality work product and drive delivery to meet deadlines.
Assist with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data and tax information returns to achieve complete, accurate, and timely filing; identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
Routinely communicate with supervisor and colleagues to obtain guidance, provide status updates, and discuss data-correction recommendations to support accuracy and consistency in tax reporting.
Support billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.
Assist with training less experienced team members and share knowledge to support the tax compliance process.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree (Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent degree preferred)
1–2 years of experience
Proficient in basic software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn other software
Working knowledge of 1099/1042-S reporting systems
Working knowledge of tax compliance and information reporting rules
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
Ability to follow standardized processes and ask questions when needed
Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills
Commit to periodic travel (5%–10%)
Preferred qualifications
Experience in a professional services environment
Knowledge of US federal and state information reporting and withholding tax returns
Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates and withholding validation
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in tax software
