About the role: As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will architect, develop, and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles, ensuring secure and efficient processes. You will collaborate with clients to design and execute bespoke Kubernetes or Docker solutions, whether cloud-based or on-premises. A significant portion of your day will be dedicated to building and refining CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software delivery, and you will oversee applying GitOps principles for secure and streamlined deployments.
Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles.
Design and implement bespoke Kubernetes or Docker solutions for cloud-based or on-premises environments.
Build and refine CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
Apply GitOps principles to software delivery and deployment processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree; or equivalent industry experience.
6+ years leading software engineering teams with extensive CI/CD experience and a proven performance track record.
5+ years developing containerized services on orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Mesos, etc.).
5+ years of DevOps experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab and Runners, Jenkins, Concourse, CircleCI, etc.).
3+ years of infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.).
5+ years building services on cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
2+ years securing applications via CI/CD pipelines (static analysis, testing, dependency analysis).
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud technologies; Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with Service Mesh (e.g., Istio).
Automation passion with Python, Go, or TypeScript; strong Git version control skills (GitLab preferred).
Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment.
Highly preferred
Strong understanding of writing custom Helm charts.
Experience supporting enterprise cloud applications or infrastructure.
Certifications such as CKA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
Clearance Requirements
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance required.
Must be a US person.
Work Type
Remote in the following areas: Hanscom AFB, MA; Colorado Springs, CO; Hampton, VA; San Antonio, TX; McLean, VA. Candidates will be considered in these areas or must be willing to relocate.
May require up to 15% travel.
Salary Range
$120,000 - $175,000
Compensation is based on comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities.
