The Branch Manager reports to the Sr. Regional Operations Manager or Director, Operations and ensures the branch operates in line with current processes and policies while meeting profitability, sales, and customer service targets. Job Description The Branch Manager will report to the Sr. Regional Operations Manager or Director, Operations. Controls driving the overall performance and operations for a large size branch. The position is responsible for ensuring the branch operates in a manner consistent with current processes and policies and that it meets or exceeds 5-Star criteria along with its planned profitability, sales, and customer service levels. The Branch Manager interacts with all levels of staff within RBA and is responsible for maintaining an engaged, safe, and positive work environment by managing and mentoring staff. The Branch manager is responsible for maintaining high personal visibility to develop strong partnerships with the sales team and other departments as well as developing and maintaining customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Manage, coordinate, and report on financial activities for the region, with responsibility for budget preparation, cost control, people administration, accounts payable and accounts receivable
Develop business and branch growth
Work collaboratively with other operational business units
Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers, customers, and company assets
Ensure that branch meets or exceeds 5-Star criteria
Update branch results and operational insights to leaders
Make decisions necessary to manage the business
Oversee and maintain customer service levels, including customer inquiries and resolution of issues
Plan and manage all auctions and pre-auction operations activities in the region
Manage refurbishing operations including paint, wash, detail, polish and mechanical
Operate the branch in a manner consistent with current processes and policies
Develop and implement new methods of internal procedures to improve efficiencies
Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
Manage the performance of direct reports, including work allocation, performance management, coaching, succession planning, career development and compensation
Support and handle all personnel issues, including hiring and terminating employees
Provide oversight and direction to the branch employees per the organization's policies and procedures
Create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization
Foster a culture of clear, direct communication within the region so that roles and responsibilities are understood, inter-region and interdepartmental cooperation is encouraged, employee engagement is maximized, and changes to policy are understood and adopted
Plan for all capital assets, including vehicle fleets and building additions
Ensure appropriate licenses and permits are obtained and current
Evaluate and negotiate contracts for the purchase of vendor services
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
At least 4 year’s of experience with operations
Excellent customer relations skills and ability to manage several levels of employees
General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations
Experience or knowledge of trucks and equipment and general mechanical knowledge
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors year-round and to climb on and off large construction equipment regularly
Ability to travel approx. 10% of time
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English
Flexibility to work extended overtime and weekends, particularly around auction dates
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Developing business acumen, business processes, and operations management principles and budgets
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing business plans to support evolving business goals
Strong leadership, management, coaching and change management skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to foster a positive and engaging work environment and have a strong work ethic
