About The Position Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: Imaging Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS, Certified CT Technologist - ARRT (CT) Must-Have: Must have experience with Epic and IV starts. Must have experience with Code Stroke/CVA patients. No first-time travelers. Prefer experience with Siemens equipment. Average # of scans/studies per day: Each tech will do about 30 scans per shift. Description: General certification requirements include BLS certifications, ARRT, and specialty certification requirements for CT and X-ray. The department has three X-ray rooms, one portable unit, and one CT scanner. Only two staff members work at a time, often dealing with ER situations. Most patients come from urgent care and the emergency room. All staff must be comfortable using remote radiologists for provider communication. IV starts are required, and staff will work with both CT and X-ray patients. Common imaging studies performed include code strokes, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and 3D reconstruction. Experience bouncing between both areas is preferred, and candidates should be prepared for occasional floating or covering areas. Staff typically work well together to collaborate on CTs during shifts. The primary software used is McKesson for PACS and Epic for charting. There is no radiologist in-house; a PA is onsite during specific daytime hours. Back-up call is required, on a rotation with core staff, with a 30-minute response time. Scrubs are provided in standard OR blue. Weekend and holiday work is required.
