Job Overview
We are seeking a
Senior Structural Engineer
to lead the design and detailing of structural components across a variety of projects, including bridges, culverts, dams, buildings, and other specialized structures. This role requires advanced experience in structural detailing, strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to take ownership of complex projects and contribute to high-quality, code-compliant designs. Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Detailing:
Lead the design and detailing of structural systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, NJDOT, ACI, ASCE, IBC NJ Edition). AutoCAD Expertise:
Prepare comprehensive, bid-ready construction drawings, plans, sections, details, and layouts using AutoCAD, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications. Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to integrate design elements and ensure timely project completion. Quality Control:
Review and verify drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Mentorship & Training:
Guide and mentor junior designers and drafters, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structures focus) or a related field. Experience:
8+ years in structural design and detailing, with a proven record of successfully completing complex projects. Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey preferred. Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD required. Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA 3-D, RISA Floor, RISA Foundation, CONSPAN, PennDOT design software, Mathcad, Shoring Suite) is a plus. Communication:
