Ellsworth Corporation, a global, industry leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment currently has an Associate Assistant Chemist opportunity at Ellsworth Adhesives. This role reports into our KitPackers/ ReslinLab (KPRL) Division located in Germantown, WI.

Summary

Prepares samples and testing for qualifying raw materials, validating properties of new products and modifications or reformulations of existing products. Completes work related to design plans, raw material qualification, validation of properties of new products and product modifications, and reformulation and support of current products.

Responsibilities

Prepares samples and formulations using chemicals and laboratory mixing equipment by following written instructions

Tests experimental formulations for properties such as viscosity, cure time, thermal transition temperatures, adhesion, and hardness using standard laboratory procedures and instrumentation

Performs a limited variety of chemical tests as instructed

Seeks resolution on experimental data deviating from expected result

Calibrates and verifies equipment as specified in SOPs and Work Instructions.

Documents procedures, observations, data, and other results in an approved format in an electronic laboratory notebook

Stocks inventory in lab and requests order of supplies

Maintains 5S of laboratory space

Requirements

Associate's degree in chemistry or related field is required (Bachelor's degree preferred)

0+ years of related work experience

Solid technical communication skills with ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Strong safety awareness

Experience with the use of personal computers and other standard office equipment

Schedule: 8:30am-5pm (M-F)
