Field Services & Technical Advising Specialist – Lead Generator Specialist. As a Steam Power Field Services & Technical Advising Specialist, you will travel extensively to customer sites across the Americas to support installation, maintenance, and warranty work on industrial power generation equipment. This position requires you to be a Lead Generator Specialist authorizing you to perform both generator repair work and test and inspection assignments. The Technical Field Advisor (TFA) provides on-site technical direction to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants for their Steam Turbine Generator Systems, reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting plant systems and equipment, and directing resources to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. This role may include other duties to proactively advance our Steam Power vision and align with core values. This is a remote position within the U.S., requiring approximately 80% travel annually with travel primarily in the U.S. and possible international trips to Canada and Latin America. Responsibilities

Lead Generator Specialist roles and responsibilities focused on technical expertise and generator maintenance. Technical Expertise And Knowledge: generator design and construction, especially GE and Alstom OEM generators; stay updated with latest advancements. Inspection Procedures: perform visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and performance testing using specialized tools. Test and Measurement: conduct insulation resistance tests, winding resistance tests, and performance tests (low and high voltage >600V ac/dc); interpret results. Repair and Maintenance: lead craft and provide guidance in repair/maintenance of industrial generators; diagnose faults and perform winding, stator/rotor repairs; perform routine maintenance. On-Site Support And Troubleshooting: travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and warranty support; collaborate with customer personnel; identify and resolve technical issues; provide solutions and improvements for reliability. Documentation and Reporting: prepare detailed reports on inspections, tests, and repairs; maintain accurate records and communicate findings to stakeholders. Safety And Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements; maintain a safe working environment; stay informed about changes in standards. Continuous Improvement And Training: participate in ongoing training and stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Qualifications

Required: Technical Degree/bachelor’s in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field with 3.0+ GPA; or High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years in Field Services or power generation equipment maintenance. Experience with electrical test equipment (Megohmmeters, Hipot sets, Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeters, Multimeters). Experience with GE and Alstom OEM technology. Desired Qualifications

Ability to work in physically demanding environments and conditions (hot/cold, confined spaces, climbing stairs/at heights). Experience as a field engineer or related role; experience on customer sites; maintenance and testing of electrical generators. Strong technical reading of electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings; English proficiency; ability to travel and work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
