Base pay range: $135,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr This range is provided by Sam's Club. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Position Summary... What you'll do... Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patients' health and wellbeing by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options, educating patients and store associates on eye health, and coordinating patient care with appropriate referrals as needed. Represents the company in vision care and patient engagement by delivering exceptional customer service through all patient interactions and maintaining patient information in vision center systems in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner. Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based eye care within the vision center scope, including comprehensive eye examinations and related services. Prescribe fitting and adjusting eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids; interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma testing, OCT). Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical presentation and guidelines. Coordinate referrals to ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals; follow up on diagnostics and patient information. Maintain patient records in vision center systems and ensure compliance with state, local, and federal healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines. Assist vision center staff with best practices and procedures; perform administrative and retail tasks as necessary (e.g., financial transactions, patient registration). Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement strategies to improve patient experience and outcomes. Support workforce development, mentorship, and succession planning to attract and retain talent. Represent and promote internal and external partnerships to support community outreach and business goals. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school. Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice. Preferred Qualifications
