Overview
The Manager – HRIS is responsible for leading the strategy, administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Valaris’ Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), including Oracle HCM Cloud. This role ensures the HRIS environment supports business objectives, maintains data integrity, and upholds security and compliance across all HR functional areas. The position manages system enhancements, integrations, reporting, and analytics in collaboration with the Valaris Service Center (VSC), HR functional teams, IT, and external partners. Responsibilities
Leads the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle HCM Cloud modules (Core HR, Absence, Compensation, Benefits, Performance, and Talent Management) to meet business needs. Serves as system owner for HRIS applications, managing overall system governance, data integrity, security roles, and compliance standards. Partners with HR functional leaders and the VSC to streamline HR processes, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of HR services globally. Oversees testing, deployment, and post-release validation of Oracle HCM Cloud updates and patches; coordinates with IT and Oracle support for issue resolution. Manages integrations between HRIS and downstream systems (Payroll, Finance, Talent systems, Time & Attendance, etc.). Develops and maintains HR data governance frameworks; ensures data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with global data privacy and employment regulations across all systems. Collaborates with the VSC and HR Business Partners to deliver dashboards, analytics, and insights that inform strategic HR decisions. Supervises HRIS team members, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback. Partners with IT on system architecture, cybersecurity and data protection standards; ensures security controls, and audit requirements are met; acts as the escalation point for complex HRIS issues. Leads HRIS-related projects, including global rollouts, new module implementations, and process automation initiatives. Supports HR leadership with specialized reporting and analytics, including OTBI, BI Publisher, Power BI, and other visualization tools. Establishes documentation, SOPs, and change management protocols for HRIS-related processes. Develops and delivers training to HR and end-user groups on system functionality and best practices. Champions continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for greater automation, efficiency, and user experience. Qualifications / Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline required. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in HRIS or HR technology, including hands-on configuration and administration of Oracle HCM Cloud. Advanced degree or relevant certification in HR Technology, Data Governance or Project Management preferred. Experience leading HR technology initiatives and managing HRIS operations within a shared services or global service delivery environment. Experience leading cross-functional HR technology projects or implementations. Skills & Experience
Deep functional and technical knowledge of Oracle HCM Cloud, including reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher) and integration methods (HCM Extracts, HDL, Fast Formula). Proven ability to manage system upgrades, test cycles, and post-production support. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills; able to translate business needs into effective system solutions. Demonstrated success managing and developing a small technical/functional team within a service-oriented model. High level of analytical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to train, influence, and present to senior leaders. Vendor and third-party relationship management experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR analytics/reporting tools. Knowledge of HR processes, data governance, employment data privacy regulations, and HR operational best practices. Behaviors
