highly-rated national insurance leader , is seeking an experienced underwriter to join their specialized

Difference in Conditions (DIC) Property

team. This role focuses on evaluating and managing high-severity, low-frequency risks, leveraging catastrophe modeling and advanced risk assessment to drive profitability. Responsibilities

Technical Authority: Evaluate, select, and accurately price new and renewal DIC property submissions, specifically targeting wind, flood, and earthquake perils according to strict risk appetite guidelines. Advanced Analysis: Analyze property exposures using catastrophe models (e.g., RMS, AIR), engineering reports, geographic information systems (GIS), and other resources to determine risk acceptability and optimal pricing. Portfolio Oversight: Monitor and actively manage the assigned book of business, ensuring sustained profitability and adherence to evolving underwriting strategies. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with actuarial, claims, and catastrophe modeling teams to refine underwriting strategies and support product development. Market Leadership: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to drive new business and ensure account retention. Compliance: Review and approve all policy wordings and endorsements for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years of property underwriting experience, with a heavy focus on DIC or catastrophe-exposed risks (wind, flood, earthquake). Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of property insurance forms, coverage structures, and rating methodologies. Modeling Skills: Experience with catastrophe modeling tools and GIS is strongly preferred. Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
