CH Laborers 380 The Hospital & Urgent Care Access Operations department ensures efficient and patient-centered access to care at CHA by overseeing Admitting, Emergency Department registration, Pre-Registration, and Financial Assistance services. The team focuses on accurate data collection, insurance verification, and streamlined workflows to support a smooth patient experience. Responsibilities

The Certified Application Counselor will assist patients in accessing healthcare coverage under the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State funded healthcare programs. Acts as a liaison between the health system and the communities to educate patients and community members about the MassHealth, Health Safety Net and Qualified Health Plan options available to them. To help Cambridge Health Alliance work toward its goal to promote health awareness and provide quality, cost effective healthcare coverage to all community members who may lack the resources to obtain such coverage. To provide support/coverage to the Patient Financial Assistance Offices and Ambulatory sites across the CHA campus. Qualifications

A minimum of a 2-Year (Associate’s) college degree or equivalent related experience. Bilingual languages preferred. Certified Application Counselor – Trained by Cambridge Health Alliance Training Department. At least 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred with experience in customer service. Experience and knowledge of MassHealth/Medicaid, health Safety Net and other government programs preferred. Ability to comprehend detailed information and present that information in a comprehensible manner to patients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate-skills in word processing and web based research required. Must be a self-motivator/self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience working with persons of different culture and economic status desired. Must be team-oriented and focused on achieving organizational goals and mission. Equal Opportunity
