Sunflower Wellness Inc
Position Summary:
Sunflower Wellness is seeking a hands-on, detail oriented, driven Biological Technician to assist the Senior Biologist with
in vitro
and preclinical biological studies for emerging compounds in the recreational and therapeutic market. This individual will assist in maintaining cell cultures, cytotoxic screenings, and cell based assays, contributing to the evaluation and validation of novel molecules.
Key Responsibilities Maintaining cell cultures (e.g., THLE-3, SW48, NPC, A549) Conduct MTT cell viability assays Assist with
in vitro
biological assays Use a class II BSC, microplate reader, digital cell counter, CO2 incubator, micropipettes and basic microscopes for high-throughput work flows. Follow SOPs and assist with mechanistic assays such as enzyme inhibition assays, quantitative bioassays, receptor binding assays, and general high throughput screening assays. Record and visualize biological data such as dose response curves or IC50 values, for technical reports, regulatory documents, and publications using Prism or Graphpad Maintain accurate, GLP style electronic records of all experiments. Collaborate with synthetic chemists and formulation scientists for new compound screening libraries.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Pharmacology, or related field. 1-2 years laboratory experience in a preclinical, biotech, or CRO setting. Demonstrated experience with cell culture. Familiarity with microplate assays, reagent prep, and data quality control. Ability to thrive in a fast paced startup environment and adapt to changing project needs.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Exposure to
in vivo
animal models, PK/PD work flows, or tissue culture experience. Experience in ADMET profiling (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, toxicity). Working knowledge of ADME software.
