Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
is responsible for ensuring that all products and materials supplied to the company meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. The SQE works closely with suppliers to evaluate their processes, drive continuous improvement, and resolve quality issues, ensuring a consistent supply of conforming materials. The SQE collaborates with supply chain and operations to ensure manufacturing partners are. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating supplier performance and leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to drive improvement in supplier manufacturing processes. A background in materials or electromechanical device manufacturing will enable identification of improvement opportunities at a varied set of suppliers. Responsibilities
Participate in supplier selection and evaluation by performing on site assessments of potential suppliers. Perform detailed audits of existing and new suppliers, ensuring suppliers meet performance and regulatory requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ISO 9001, etc.). Build and maintain supplier relationships along with Supply Chain. Establish and Implement supplier performance metrics, including inspection/validation plans. Monitor trends in supplier performance and initiate projects to improve Quality, Delivery and Cost. Drive supplier Continuous improvement through use of Quality Tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.). Identify and Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities related to supplier quality issues to prevent recurrence of quality issues. Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, audits and compliance documentation. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (QMS). Track and report on audit findings and work with suppliers to close gaps. What we are Looking for
2-3 years of Hardware or Materials quality experience BS degree in Engineering or a related field Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, Six Sigma, and Kanban Systems Technical writing skills that include quality procedures and test plans Experience with data analysis techniques Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel to supplier sites (up to 10% travel, as required). Salary Range
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $77,821 - $91,555. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, certifications, licenses, business needs and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include a comprehensive benefits package.
