Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) delivers core infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud services and is seeking a Senior Director Program Management to join the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team. The role focuses on defining and delivering operational measures for hardware manufacturing, improving planning, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability for Microsoft cloud hardware. The candidate will help envision and implement future technical solutions to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities

Lead and be accountable for the Fleet Fundamentals (Fleet Health & Quality) management of the Azure HW Infrastructure. Drive fleet management governance best practices including phase gate checklists, waterfall charts, fleet KPIs and forecasting Be the champion of Fleet Quality and drive quick-turn solutions to improve customer experience on Azure fleet Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and manage the project timeline, budget, and resources. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders and senior management. Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify project requirements, risks, and dependencies Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software teams to architect and build highly scalable and reliable solutions for fleet availability and prevention initiatives. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure systems meet significant quality, reliability, and service level requirements for a cloud environment Embody our culture and values. Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 9+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 11+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience. 9+ years of experience of technical leadership as a Program or Product manager or Platform Architect or Validation Architect or a Lead System/Chief engineer or Engineering Manager OR equivalent industry experience. Capable of technical deep dives into platform design, verification flows, operating systems, networking, and storage. Experience in leading and developing a high-performance Program Management or Engineering teams that delivers results and impact. Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications

Proficient technical background in cloud computing, modern server architecture, GPU/SoC architecture as well as experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams Customer engineering, portfolio management and validation experience Understanding of Azure Infrastructure Data analytical skills- Knowing how to use data based and analytical tools. Proficient communication skills using various forms of media. Experience in managing people resources and budget. Able to plan work, and work to a plan adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving Environment. Individual effectiveness skills such as discipline, time management, decision making, planning, and organizing work, summarizing results through technical reports Self-driven, self-motivated individual is able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment and across the team of engineers. Hardware Engineering M6 — The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
