The Senior Manager of Technical Consumer Research will develop and lead comprehensive sensory and consumer research to guide and validate the development of complex consumer‑centric, technical research and core innovation projects related to ingredients, technology, beverages, packaging, and equipment.

Responsibilities

Build cross‑functional relationships and act as a key technical business partner for critical technical initiatives.

Lead end‑to‑end complex sensory and consumer research projects to provide actionable insights and technical guidance.

Translate business needs into actionable research plans and develop statistically valid data analyses (e.g., ANOVA, factorial analysis, modeling tools).

Provide data‑driven strategic recommendations based on consumer and sensory insights.

Define solutions grounded in consumer needs and competitive landscape.

Communicate insights clearly, using data‑driven storytelling to influence stakeholders.

Understand fundamental consumer and sensory requirements of beverage categories and inject this knowledge into solution development.

Co‑develop a multiyear research plan with the RtE technical team for Sweetener & Taste System Research and Functional Ingredient Research.

Maintain a thorough understanding of consumer relevance and desirability of technologies and identify drivers of liking and white space opportunities.

Collaborate with national and global research communities, partner on global projects, and pursue innovative methodologies.

Qualifications

MS/PhD in Market Research, Food or Sensory Science, Behavioral Psychology or related fields.

Minimum 8 years of relevant sensory or consumer research experience.

Proven track record delivering consumer‑centric results in a matrix FMCG organization, including R&D, Product Development, and Scientific & Regulatory Affairs.

Skills & Competencies

Human‑centric research: sensory & consumer research methodology, sensory user experience, social & behavioral sciences.

Data analysis: statistical data analysis, modeling tools, data analytics, data visualization, AI & ML principles.

Communication: strong written and oral skills, storytelling, influencing, advanced communication techniques.

Business partnership: cross‑functional interaction, problem‑solving, organizational and time‑management skills.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to a maximum of 10% of the time.

Compensation

Pay range: $131,000 – $153,000.

Base pay may vary by geography, skills, and experience.

Annual incentive value: 15% of base.
