Role: Security & Risk Management Engineer Location: Framingham, MA Duration: 6+ Months Contract We are seeking a talented Security & Risk Management Engineer to help strengthen enterprise resilience, cybersecurity governance, and compliance efforts. This role supports the organization’s strategic security initiatives by improving risk oversight, managing third-party assessments, and advancing governance programs that ensure long-term operational continuity. Position Summary: The Security & Risk Management Engineer will collaborate across IT, procurement, and business teams to evaluate security risks, enhance governance frameworks, and maintain business continuity readiness. The ideal candidate brings both technical insight and risk management expertise, with the ability to design practical, scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements. You will be directly involved in conducting risk analyses, managing vendor risk assessments, supporting GRC initiatives, and leading cybersecurity awareness programs that promote a proactive security culture company-wide. Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to support the development of resilience and recovery strategies. Build and maintain comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) plans. Manage third-party security evaluations, ensuring vendors meet compliance and security requirements. Partner with internal teams to embed risk controls and governance practices across business processes. Enhance GRC programs by integrating risk monitoring and reporting systems for improved visibility. Oversee cybersecurity awareness and training programs, including phishing simulations and ongoing employee engagement initiatives. Continuously assess and improve governance, risk, and compliance processes to meet evolving security needs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, governance, or risk management roles. Solid understanding of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and SOX. Demonstrated experience in business continuity/disaster recovery planning and third-party risk assessments. Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work across business units and technical teams. Preferred Tools & Technologies
