Tech Lead, Digital Forensics - Global Security Organization The mission of TikTok's Global Security Organization (GSO) is to build and earn trust by reducing risk and securing our businesses and products. Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

Lead data engineers to deliver technically sound and defensible results, drive improvements in forensic processes, research new techniques and tools, and provide technical guidance to forensic teams.

Platform Management:

Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and effective use of eDiscovery/Forensics platforms and related tools.

Data Integrity and Chain of Custody Management:

Guide the entire eDiscovery data lifecycle, including collection, processing, data loading, quality checks, and production.

Workflow & SOP Development:

Create, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for eDiscovery technical processes.

Communications and Technical Expertise:

Serve as the primary technical resource for resolving complex issues and acting as an escalation point for technical and legal challenges.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Deep expertise in digital evidence handling and forensic analysis; proficiency in languages like Python for building automated data pipelines, scripting, and tool integration.

Exceptional ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong ability to coordinate complex processes with tight deadlines and manage resources effectively.

Solid understanding of the EDRM and the legal frameworks governing eDiscovery.

Forensic tools: Knowledge of traditional tools (e.g., FTK, EnCase, Autopsy, Relativity, Nuix) and how to integrate outputs into a larger data processing system.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related legal technology field.

Understanding of the standard digital forensics process (acquisition, preservation, analysis, reporting).

Knowledge of laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ethical considerations in digital evidence collection and privacy.

Understanding of chain of custody requirements for maintaining evidence integrity and admissibility.

Job Information Compensation: The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $199,800 - $374,400 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package and may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and RSUs. Benefits vary by location and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, holidays, sick days, and paid personal time. The company reserves the right to modify these programs at any time.
