Overview

This role is for a senior banker on the Consumer Finance team within Capital One’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The individual will be responsible for relationship management, including new business development, investment banking coverage, pitching to issuers and investors, and deal execution. The position requires an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to autonomously manage external relationships and internal deal teams, and interaction with senior business leaders. The group supports asset managers and originators of commercial and consumer loans and has a track record of growth potential. Responsibilities

New business development and ongoing relationship management in the broader consumer finance industry Collaborate with leadership to develop the opportunity set and potential growth areas Nurture and expand strong internal/external relationships Advise companies on options for their needs, including lending, capital markets, and other services Autonomously manage deal execution: origination, structuring, cash flow modeling, diligence, term negotiation, approvals, and legal documentation Lead due diligence processes and evaluate industry research to identify material strengths, risks, and mitigants Assist less experienced team members in financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and deal structuring Prepare and review financial models independently Assist partners in Underwriting to review credit approval documents; review work of junior team members as appropriate Prepare term sheets in consultation with the broader deal team, including partners in Underwriting, Legal and Credit Lead review and negotiation of legal documents and provide rationale to drive outcomes Drive the deal process and coordinate communication with internal and external constituents Prepare and review pricing models; understand drivers and opportunities to increase returns Foster collaboration between partner groups and interact directly with customers to balance risk and return Mentor and train rotational analysts and new hires Participate in internal initiatives to ensure the business is well-managed and operates efficiently Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience At least 5 years of experience in Relationship Management At least 7 years of experience working with Lender Finance At least 7 years of experience working with Financial Institutions Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree and/or CFA At least 10 years of experience in Capital Markets and Asset Backed Securitization (ABS) Completion of a formal credit training program FINRA Licenses: Series 7, 63, 69 Additional Information

Salary information is for candidates hired to work within a listed location and reflects the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Chicago, IL: $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, FIG Investment Banking McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, FIG Investment Banking New York, NY: $246,500 - $281,300 for Director, FIG Investment Banking Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location, and the offer letter will reflect the actual amount.
