Our client, a leading developer, owner, and operator of wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage projects, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Counsel to join their dynamic legal team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a real estate lawyer with at least 10 years of experience — ideally including renewable energy project development — who’s eager to take on a high-impact in-house role with visibility, leadership, and a path for advancement. What You’ll Do: Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate real estate agreements related to electric transmission, wind, and solar facilities to secure property rights essential to the company’s mission. Serve as a legal advisor and strategic partner to developers and internal stakeholders. Coordinate with landowners’ and investment partners’ counsel. Collaborate with local counsel to ensure agreements meet state-specific requirements. Work closely with title companies and surveyors to ensure quality and timeliness. Mentor and support junior attorneys on the real estate legal team. Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school. 10–15 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in development work. Experience with renewable energy projects is strongly preferred. Skilled in negotiating complex real estate agreements. Collaborative, business-minded, and eager to lead and mentor others. Location and Schedule
This position is based in Houston, Texas, with a hybrid work schedule. For candidates located outside of the Houston area, relocation assistance may be available.
