What You Will Do

You will play a strategic and operational leadership role, ensuring quality, coherence and innovation in English and Literacy across Ivanhoe Grammar School’s campuses. Working closely with the Director of Academic Learning, you will collaborate with Curriculum Leaders and teachers to implement a concept-based curriculum that aligns with the School’s vision for a contemporary, globally relevant education.

Lead the design and delivery of engaging, concept-based English and Literacy programs across Years 7–12.

Embed the Ivanhoe Instructional Model and evidence-informed practice to ensure consistency and excellence across campuses.

Drive Middle Years literacy development through explicit instruction and targeted pedagogical strategies.

Foster collaboration, mentoring and professional growth within the English team, building collective capacity and teacher impact.

Use data, research and feedback to evaluate teaching practice and enhance student learning outcomes.

Ensure alignment in assessment, reporting and curriculum documentation in accordance with School policy.

Represent English in academic, community and professional forums, contributing to Ivanhoe Grammar’s reputation for excellence.

Hold current VIT registration and demonstrate significant VCE teaching experience.

Understand and support the principles of the IB Diploma Programme (knowledge advantageous but not essential).

Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement.

Uphold the highest standards of child safety, compliance and professional conduct.
