Head of Wealth Business Strategic Finance
Overview
The Head of Wealth Business Strategic Finance will work with business partners in Wealth/ MMLIS, MMFA and Corporate Finance to provide high quality information and analysis to facilitate assessment and reporting of business performance, proactive identification of value creation strategies and clear tools and analytics to support decision-making. The role reports to the Head of BP&AD (Brand, Product and Affiliated Distribution) Strategic Finance within CFO, and will work directly with the Head of Wealth Management and their team on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
Provide high quality analysis to influence key financial decisions, including developing and employing analytical models.
Contribute to the development of driver-based forecasts, review P&L assumption elements for reasonableness, and collaborate with business partners on forecast drivers.
Serve as a strategic consultant to the business, delivering proactive recommendations for earnings optimization and participating in strategic finance initiatives.
Lead cost-benefit analyses to support prioritization of initiatives and decision making, and participate in CFO transformation initiatives (data-driven analysis, automated reporting, advanced analytics, data governance, talent strategy).
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and CFO colleagues to continuously improve processes and communicate drivers of financial results clearly.
Monitor and communicate key performance drivers and risks, analyze sales, expenses, cash flows, AUM, unit costs, and other financial metrics.
The Team Join the BP&AD Strategic Finance team primarily supporting Wealth Management solutions. The team emphasizes accountability, agility, inclusivity, strong business acumen and courageous communications. The role includes overseeing a direct report who owns Flourish and MM Funds and who will support the broader wealth business.
The Impact Your work will impact strategic decisions made by business partners by providing financial data and tools to support decision-making and value creation.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in finance or actuarial, ideally with life insurance, annuity products or wealth management experience
Experience using data to analyze and communicate implications of business activity, leveraging BI tools (Alation, MicroStrategy, SQL, etc.)
Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to partner with and influence business leaders
Excellent communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly
Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills
Experience with financial forecasting and quarter closes
The Ideal Qualifications
FSA, CFA, CPA or MBA designation a plus
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory financial reporting a plus
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliverables
Ability to lead and manage one or more direct reports
