As a

Senior Structural - Transmission Line Engineer , you will have the opportunity to: Support design engineering and analysis on transmission scopes. Support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including technologies like HVDC and 765kV. Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards. Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Work within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements. May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations and effective communication with the project team. May assist with business development activities. Function as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expand knowledge and skill set in the area of discipline. The Team

Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and B&V policies. Own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides. Provide technical guidance to others on projects or disciplines. Ensure compliance with B&V quality program. Establish processes and promote a quality-focused culture. Support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management efforts. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects. Conduct research and develop equipment/materials recommendations. Oversee data collection and management for engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations. Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Develop advanced solutions and delegate tasks to deepen project execution staff. Review lower-level work and lead production teams or multi-discipline coordination as needed. Coordinate with internal/external team members on complex projects. Define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines. Identify key client interests and drivers and communicate them to the project team. Develop approaches to align work with client needs. Identify future client needs and support business development or pursuit activities. Serve as a technical specialist in a broad or specialized field. Apply advanced concepts to unique engineering problems and support multiple complex projects. Mentor lower and mid-level professionals and contribute to career development and succession planning. Preferred Qualifications

Strong experience in 69kV to 500kV overhead transmission line design and working knowledge of Power Line system programs (e.g., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE). Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, guides, and standards related to the discipline. Experience interacting with clients and building relationships in pursuit of opportunities. Experience desired for client work

Experience with design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems. Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations. Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis/design software. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with laws and regulations. Work Environment

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion, performance, and assignments. Salary and Notice
