New York I am currently partnered exclusively with a Personal Care Contract Manufacturer, based in New York. We are actively recruiting for a Senior Chemist to join a well established team, experiencing growth across the R&D department. Responsibilities
Develop/refine haircare, skincare, cosmetics, body care and other Personal Care formulations. Act as a direct contact for batch runs in the R&D department. Work cross-functionally with Product Development, Supply Chain, Sales, and Quality teams. Follow clear instructions to a high level. Oversee daily lab activity, functioning as a support role. Maintain a safe laboratory environment. Coach, train and mentor lab technicians and chemists. Proactively look for ways to improve formulas, products and processes. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Troubleshoot and resolve formulation challenges, including texture, fragrance, color, and ingredient compatibility. Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in identifying solutions. Identify mistakes in formulations and respond to formulation challenges. Collaborate with clients to understand project needs, provide technical expertise, and translate requirements into successful product formulations. Identify raw materials and technologies suitable for product development. Some physical demand; be able to lift up to 12 kg and stand for extended periods. Team management and leadership responsibilities. Formulation, analytical, problem solving, and project management skills. Intermediate knowledge in relevant scientific and technical fields. Ability to navigate manufacturing technology systems. Qualifications
7+ years of Personal Care Contract Manufacturing formulation experience in haircare, skincare, cosmetics, and body care. Bachelors or Masters in Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Ability to work effectively in a team. Notes
