Overview

Aircraft Mechanic II Location: NAS Key West, FL. Organization: Commander Naval Air Forces Atlantic (CNAL) – Station Search and Rescue (SAR). Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance. Pay: $46.18/hr + $12.00/hr additional rate (increasing to $48.95/hr + $15.00/hr in November). Shift: Day (0630–1500) or Night (1430–2300), Monday–Friday. Tools Provided. Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and components, including engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, electrical, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose avionics and mechanical malfunctions using test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals. Conduct aircraft inspections, corrosion control, preservation/de-preservation, and documentation of maintenance actions in logs and records. Support flight line operations, aircraft movement, and support equipment (SE) operation and inspection. Participate in technical directive compliance, ordnance handling, and maintenance data system updates. Contribute to Navy maintenance programs, including FOD Prevention, Corrosion Control, Tool Control, and Hydraulic Contamination Control. May lead and train lower-level mechanics; inspect and sign off on work performed by other technicians. Required Qualifications

Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (O-Level/Navy aviation preferred) Strong working knowledge of Navy Maintenance Programs, including NAMP, Tool Control, and FOD Prevention. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings. Proficient with aircraft maintenance tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment. Timeline for Certifications

Airfield Safety/Vehicle Operator Course (within 60 days) Plane Captain (within 120 days) Collateral Duty Inspector (within 120 days) Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (within 180 days) Safe for Flight Certification (within 180 days) Additional technical equipment qualifications as required (Nitrogen Servicing Unit, Tow Tractor, Power Plant operations, etc.) Preferred Qualifications

Prior U.S. Navy or Marine Corps aviation maintenance experience (MH-60R/S or similar platform preferred) Experience supporting CNAL or similar O-Level Navy maintenance programs Knowledge of aircraft corrosion prevention, FOD, hydraulic contamination control, and fuel surveillance procedures Additional Information
