Senior Design Engineer – Hydraulics role at Caterpillar Inc. Location: Tucson, AZ – Decatur, IL. This position may require up to 15% travel. Domestic relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. What You Will Do

Issue Resolution – Quickly identify root cause of failures and suggest robust solutions. Product Development – Use standard product development processes to deliver a product that meets time, cost, and quality commitments and enables downstream users to meet program commitments efficiently and effectively. Conceptual Design – Think, manipulate, and communicate in virtual or theoretical terms to achieve optimized designs. Cost-Value Management – Apply business fundamentals to drive value for the customer and Caterpillar. Collaboration with Value Chain Partners – Develop goals regarding Continuous Product Improvement, New Product Introduction, and Cost Reduction for the hydraulic installation team. Responsibilities and Role Details

Role focuses on hydraulic installation for Large Mining Trucks, including placement and retention of hydraulic components and designing connections to create a fully functional hydraulic system. Direct and participate in the design and development of new product concepts and complex engineering projects for production release, ensuring superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability. Provide hydraulic integration expertise on construction or mining equipment; mentor less experienced team members; coordinate resource levels; collaborate with value chain partners to set goals for NPI, CPI, and cost reduction. Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic systems; 6 Sigma experience is desirable. Top Candidates Will Have

Off-highway truck or mining industry application knowledge. Extensive experience in hydraulic installation and/or engine installation product design and development. Experience directing project staffing; ability to motivate and develop team members in a high-paced environment. Qualifications

Degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum. Technical Excellence: mechanical design experience; knowledge of hydraulic systems and schematics (Creo Schematic) is a plus; experience in manufacturing/mining environments desirable. CAD & Engineering: Proficiency in designing hoses, tubes, and installations using CAD tools, especially Creo Parametric; Vis View experience desirable for virtual checks and interpreted analysis results for electrical integration. Product Design – MFG: Understanding of large equipment assembly and hydraulic component integration; experience with hose/tube manufacturing and cost factors; ability to review customer feedback to improve performance. Analytical Thinking: Evaluate risks, costs, and success factors to solve complex problems; use appropriate tools and research to identify root causes and drive solutions. Effective Communications: Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience directing and reviewing work of other engineers; ability to work with a global team. Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities; resolve conflicts and maintain delivery timelines. Product Design and Development: Experience creating standards to improve product efficiency; develops prototypes and validates concepts; solves complex design challenges and advises on solutions. Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on factors such as job level, location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Salary is one component of total compensation at Caterpillar. Benefits
