Overview
Mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts seeks an attorney to join its Labor, Employment and Personnel Practice Group. Candidates will be considered for the following DWK offices (Hybrid): San Francisco, Sacramento, East Bay. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience, including the qualifications listed below.
Responsibilities
Represent public entities in labor and employment matters, including negotiations and related advisory work.
Labor negotiations: participate on negotiations teams, develop and draft bargaining proposals, side letters and MOUs, develop negotiation plans and strategies, and negotiate collective bargaining agreements and MOUs.
Conduct investigations and/or administrative hearings as needed.
Support matters under the Educational Employment Relations Act or similar labor relations statutes (preferred).
Provide excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication support; adapt to a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities.
Possess willingness to represent public entities; school district representation is a plus.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of relevant experience in labor, employment and personnel matters.
Experience with labor negotiations, bargaining proposals, MOUs, and related negotiation strategies.
Prior experience conducting investigations and/or administrative hearings.
Admission to the California State Bar.
Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work on a broad variety of legal matters for public entities.
Salary and Benefits The anticipated annual salary range is $140,000 to $185,000. The final salary will depend on factors including but not limited to type and years of experience, education, and other considerations.
Location and Schedule Hybrid work arrangement; offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, or East Bay. Please indicate preferred office location in your application.
