Senior Actuarial Analyst/Associate Actuary
Zurich North America is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst or Associate Actuary for the Captive Pricing team, ideally based at our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois or one of our offices nationwide.
Responsibilities
Coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses related to the pricing of individual captives.
Develop and deliver actionable insights and associated actions for improvement of individual captives.
Support market‑facing underwriters on pricing decisions and development of effective premium/rating structures and strategies.
Analyze profit drivers across portfolio and book segments and communicate insights as needed.
Assess underwriting and reserving methodology and approaches.
Basic Qualifications
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate’s Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree.
Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (e.g., FCAS) with 2+ years of experience in actuarial work OR
Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams (e.g., FCAS) with 3+ years of actuarial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience.
Middle‑Market or multi‑line experience.
History of solution‑oriented collaboration across actuarial and multi‑functional teams.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel), SQL, R, and VBA.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and make critical business decisions effectively.
Knowledge of actuarial technique and standards.
Compensation Salary range: $74,300 – $161,000 (Senior Analyst and Associate Actuary combined). Short‑term incentive bonus eligibility: 10% – 15%.
Location & Travel Locations: Chicago, IL; Overland Park, KS; Schaumburg, IL. Remote Working: Hybrid. Schedule: Full Time. Employment Sponsorship: Not offered.
