Valid New Jersey Administrative Certificate with Principal endorsement. Master's degree from an accredited college/university. Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as a supervisor or principal. Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a teacher. Ability to work effectively with staff and parents. Ability to work collaboratively with the administrative team. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district’s K–12 curriculum. Responsibilities
Work with principals, department heads, supervisors, and teachers in developing the total school curriculum, and assists in the formulation of a philosophy and objectives for the instructional plan. Study, evaluate, and as appropriate, recommend to the Superintendent the adoption of new instructional materials, methods, and programs, including tutoring and remedial instruction. Provide leadership in the development of the K–12 instructional program and achievement of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and district goals and objectives. Assist in the implementation of the district’s in-service education program and achievement of the New Jersey Learning Standards and district goals and objectives. Recommend to the Superintendent the addition of new courses, grade placement and credit allowance, and graduation requirements. Produce curriculum bulletins, guides, or directories to be distributed to the staff as required. Keep abreast, interpret, and inform staff of current research and trends in demonstrably effective instructional practices. Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of all instructional programs to ensure consistency and rigor of the PreK–12 curricula and instruction. Assist in the development and implementation of staff professional development. Assist with the development and implementation of District Goals and Strategic Plan. Assist administrators and teachers in the creation of Student Growth Objectives (SGOs) for each school year. Assist with the implementation of the new teacher/leader program and the district's mentoring program. Direct the district’s participation in Teacher Recognition Programs. Assist with the coordination of student-teacher placements with colleges/universities. Schedule and organize grade-level and departmental meetings to effect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program of schools. Plan and presents a series of meetings each year for the purpose of interpreting to the Board of Education and to the parents and public at large the educational program of the schools. Assist in the evaluation of supervisory and instructional staff as directed by the Superintendent of Schools. Attend activities and/or meetings (including evening events) when requested by the Superintendent of Schools. Review observations and evaluations of instructional staff to ensure compliance with district policy, state law, and requirements; monitor the use of the certificated staff evaluation protocol. Participate in the work of state and national curriculum study organizations and groups. Complete formal observations for instructional staff eligible for tenure when directed by the Superintendent of Schools. Monitor the instructional program budget to ensure that expenditures are consistent with allocations. Assist in the development of the budget documentation for submission to the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, and monitor the instructional program budget to ensure that expenditures are consistent with allocations. Assume final responsibility for the writing, funding, reporting, application, services, and submission of ESSA/ESEA. Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
