HRIS Manager – Buckeye Partners Location:

Houston, TX

Compensation:

$150,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year (1 week ago posting).

Role Summary The

HRIS Manager

supports the strategy, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s HR technology systems, ensuring that HR systems effectively support business processes, compliance requirements, and data‑driven decision making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

System Management – Oversee administration, configuration, and maintenance of the organization’s HRIS; manage system upgrades, testing, and rollouts; ensure integrity and security of HR data.

Relationship Building – Develop effective working relationships across HR, IT, other stakeholders, and system vendors.

Design and Development – Lead new project implementations and functionality upgrades; manage HRIS projects through the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, UAT, and post‑production support.

Procedures, Processes and Process Improvement – Implement standards, procedures, and processes for HR applications; identify trends and root causes of problems; monitor new features from vendors and advocate for appropriate adoption plans.

Reporting – Build business intelligence, design dashboards, infographics, and HR metrics to support organizational strategy.

Leadership – Serve as technical lead, mentor, and trainer for the HRIS team and users; foster a collaborative, customer‑focused service culture.

Position Requirements

Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience with major HR applications (e.g., Workday, UKG Pro, SuccessFactors, Oracle, PeopleSoft).

Minimum 3 years of managing HRIS functions.

Experience leading system implementations.

Solid understanding of payroll and HR processes.

Strong technical knowledge of HR systems, applications, theory, and practice.

Advanced proficiency with data conversion and mapping.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, consulting, and communication skills.

Knowledge of requirement gathering techniques and project management.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple efforts.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills across all levels.

Experience supporting a global HR environment (plus).

Critical thinking and ability to model system workflows.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in business or information systems.

Ability to travel 10% of the time if required.

Preferred But Not Required

System Administrator level experience with UKG Pro.

Intermediate to advanced level experience with Cognos Analytics.

Experience with Cornerstone On Demand, Learning and Performance modules, and compensation systems.

Experience creating dashboards in Power BI.
