American Honda Motor Company, Inc. The role focuses on IT leadership for dealer-related software applications, overseeing projects, system enhancements, and portfolio support including SOX audits. The position leads a team and coordinates with operating divisions and IT teams to deliver reliable application functionality across multiple backends and dealer-facing portals. Responsibilities
Oversee dealer business transactions across sales, service, parts, training areas for all Honda product brands. Provide direction and leadership for internal staff and outsourced projects/vendor partners, including all aspects of the development life cycle. Coordinate with operating divisions and IT teams for new and revised functions for application systems. Review and establish standards and methodologies to deliver business functionality while ensuring stability and consistency of applications. Work with Unit Manager and extended management to input for IT, Division, Department, and Unit strategy; contribute ideas and execute division and unit plans. Build local and regional relationships to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers (AHM IT, American Honda, Honda Canada, Honda Mexico and Export, and external suppliers); use Persuasion to achieve results. Build and maintain a high-performing IT team (including contingent staff), foster development, coaching, performance management, and governance for work techniques and products. Achieve department goals for the Delivery Team (schedule, budget, quality) as approved annually. Define and implement processes and methodologies for robust delivery and operation of large-scale, multi-partner consumer-facing applications. Workstyle
At least 4 days per workweek in office in Torrance, CA. One fixed remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval. Travel requirements: approximately 10%, largely domestic and some international. Visa sponsorship

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Strong customer mindset 7 to 10 years of IT delivery experience 5 to 8 years of supervisory experience 3 to 5 years managing professionals who lead teams, groups, and vendors 5 to 8 years project management experience 5 to 8 years technical management experience 3 to 5 years working with business groups and enterprise organizations (Legal, Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, etc.) 2 to 3 years procuring and managing outsourced/offsite partners 1+ years budget or financial management experience Experience with Dealer communications Portals (DCS) for automotive OEMs and advanced technology portals desired Liferay and .NET knowledge desirable What differentiates Honda and makes us an employer of choice
